You will reach the beaches of Durankulak following an asphalted road on the right that draws away from the main road toward Romania just few hundred meters after Durankulak village.
The access to them is by the Camping “Cosmos” witch is located between the Northern and the Southern beach. They are naturally separated by a higher part of the coast. There are two slightly noticeable capes – Ursusburun to the Northern Beach and Kartalbyrun (a.k.a. Buruna) to the Southern Beach.
The Southern beach of Durankulak is about 6.5 km long and reaches almost to the next village to the south – Krapets. That makes it one of the longest beaches of Bulgaria. If you don’t like overcrowded places, overbuild seaside, fancy hotels and restaurants; if you want to connect to the “wild” nature, to have a quiet rest and sunny tan, that area is a great choice.
Most of the time the water is crystal clear, and the sand is fine. But there’s some periods that the wind is very strong, the water is impetuous and throws away mussels, seaweeds and remains of a long ago sunken ships.
The Beach is almost desert - at the peak season 1-20 August there are let say 10-20 persons per km.
